{"product_id":"a-length-of-katazome-boro-cloth-wide-striped-patches","title":"A Length of Katazome Boro Cloth: Wide Striped Patches","description":"\u003cp\u003eearly twentieth century\u003cbr\u003e56 1\/2\" x 13\", 143.5 cm x 33 cm\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a length of patched and mended, indigo cotton which has been stencil resist dyed in the \u003cem\u003ekatazome\u003c\/em\u003e method.  The pattern resisted onto the cloth is that of a repeat of lush chrysanthemums, a ghost image of which can be seen on the side shown here, which is the \"wrong\" side of the cloth.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe cotton is old and worn well as can be seen by the surface patina, the light fading, the tattered edges, the small hole and the large, striped cotton patches that are used to repair and reinforce this length.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThe wide-striped cotton patches are a very nice contrast to the powder-blue \u003cem\u003ekatazome\u003c\/em\u003e ground--and if you look at the largest patch you will see some very free \u003cem\u003esashiko\u003c\/em\u003e stitching which has been used to affix this patch to the base.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eA lovely old piece of \u003cem\u003eboro\u003c\/em\u003e cloth, beautiful for its \u003cem\u003ekatazome\u003c\/em\u003e base and for the bold contrast of its patches.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Sri","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":42898232344622,"sku":"fqm1793947912783","price":42.7,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0600\/1134\/8014\/files\/a-length-of-katazome-boro-cloth-wide-striped-patches_1.jpg?v=1793947919","url":"https:\/\/ivanrarehub.shop\/products\/a-length-of-katazome-boro-cloth-wide-striped-patches","provider":"My Store","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
